Project Overview

  • Kellner Family Athletic Center, named in honor of Ted ('69) and Mary ('68) Kellner and their family, is the largest capital project in Wisconsin Athletics' history at a $285M construction cost.
  • The facility includes a 120 yard indoor turf field, strength and conditioning center, 305 meter training track, student-athlete dining hall, sports medicine center, locker rooms, coaching offices and student-athlete well-being spaces.
  • All 23 varsity sports will utilize this new facility to train at the highest level of college athletics which will afford the Badgers the best student-athlete experience in the country as they pursue academic excellence at one of top public research institutions in the world and compete in the best athletic conference in the NCAA.
  • To date, $90M has been committed to the fundraising goal of $100M needed to enhance our investment in our teams and compete for championships.
  • The new facility increases our ability to foster the $757M economic impact that Wisconsin Athletics has on the State of Wisconsin annually.
  • Our student-athletes, coaches and staff are thankful to every donor who has participated in the Building Champions Campaign and are looking for more Badgers to help us close fundraising on this critically important project.
